Don’t Let This Happen To You

About a month ago I had just completed an Accents Virtual Tour for my mother as a sample 360 Tour for friends and Real Estate Agents. My mother had just purchased a condo that was totally renovated and had lived there less than six months.  The home inventory virtual tour did not take too long and was very good practice for me. About two weeks ago she returned home from work around 11:00 p.m. and opened her front door to six inches of standing and running water throughout her new renovated condo.  Needless to say she was frantic and upset and called the fire department.  They came and shut the water valve off.  Around 12:00 midnight, a water restoration company arrived and started extracting all the water.

They set up about 20 fans and humidifiers to extract any moisture and remaining water.  After 5 days of running fans for 24 hours, all the flooring and baseboards had to be torn out and furniture had to be moved into a pod.  Needless to say, the condo was gutted out.  The cause of the water damage was a water hose that busted on the washing machine.  She didn’t have the washer running when she was at work.  A total fluke accident.

Lesson here is make sure you have enough home owners’ coverage for accidents like this AND be sure that you have a virtual tour done of your home’s contents.  In this case my mother was lucky enough that I had JUST done one a few weeks earlier.  Remember, this can happen anytime and spending a couple hundred dollars on having an insurance virtual tour or (Home Inventory Tour) done is money very well spent.  Give us a call today and find out what Accents Virtual Tours can do for you!

Virtual Tour Company Insurance?

Got Virtual Tour Business Insurance??

As a virtual tour provider, you need to protect yourself and your business with General Liability Insurance.

What would happen if you accidentally knocked over an expensive Ming Dynasty Vase while setting up your camera and tripod? Are you aware that you would be held responsible and would need to pay for the damage?

What if the homeowner or sales agent that hired you to do a virtual tour made false accusations about you or your virtual tour business? Defense costs alone could cost you thousands of dollars.

You can not afford to be without liability insurance for your virtual tour business.

Furthermore, proof of insurance is a requirement prior to becoming eligible for work with certain national Tour Track accounts here at RTV.

As an RTV virtual tour provider, a $1,000,000 General Liability Insurance policy is available to you for $300 per year. The policy is subject to a $500 property damage deductible and subject to all other policy terms and conditions.

Peace of Mind – Insurance Virtual Tours

Alamo Area Virtual Tours offers Peace of Mind that can help in the face of Catastrophe and the reconstruction afterwards. The term Virtual Tours may bring to mind Real Estate Virtual Tours and listings with buyers and sellers. While that is a major thrust and use of virtual tours in today’s environment, it is by no means the be all and end all of the use of Virtual Tours in today’s lifestyle.

There is another very useful way of using our amazing new Fusion virtual tours, and that is in the area of personal property, insurance, and organization.  Consider a fire or tornado or flood of your property/business. How many of you have a complete inventory of your possessions, to the degree that upon total loss you would have a list/remember all that was gone?  I doubt that many of you will answer in the affirmative. It is obvious the results of this omission when you are trying to get your insurance agency to agree to the amount of money/replacements that you lost.

So what can a virtual tour do for you?

An actual virtual tour will

  • Help you remember all the furniture that you have
  • Help in giving value to that furniture/belongings

One of our Fusion stills only slide shows will

  • Give high definition stills of individual items
    • Silver Pattern & quantity
    • China patterns  & quantity
    • Clocks
    • Chairs
    • Watches
    • Antique lamps
    • Jewelry
    • The list goes on and on and on

Considering what even one reasonably valuable item forgotten in trying to recoup losses is compared to the cost of an insurance virtual tour, and you will see the value of having this done and stored on a CD in an off site venue such as a bank vault.

Alamo Area Virtual Tours  provides this product at a very reasonable cost, especially when compared to the cost of not remembering, documenting your possessions/valuables. It is a way to feel peace of mind in the case of a catastrophe.  Insurance alone is simply not enough. The burden of proof is upon you to prove what you had. No better way than to have an Insurance Virtual Tour completed, put on a CD, sealed, dated, notarizing the date and storing off site.  Remember, even receipts can be photographed along with the item to better authenticate.

To ensure your security, the Insurance Virtual Tour is produced through RTV, downloaded to the appropriate CD’s, computers as desired and then the virtual tour itself is archived so it is not public at all.

More Than Just Real Estate

The term Virtual Tour may bring to mind Real Estate listings and buyers and sellers. While that is a major thrust and use of Virtual tours in today’s environment, it is by no means the be all and end all of the use of Virtual Tours in today’s lifestyle.

Let’s begin with what a virtual tour actually is. There are various definitions of Virtual Tours and many people have different ideas of just what it entails and how it is presented. A virtual tour by the very nature of the term indicates that you can take a tour of some physical place, be it a home, restaurant, hotel or any brick & mortar building to which there is a wish for people/customers to become familiar or acquainted with in the hopes that 1) they may wish to visit 2) they will know or be able to navigate their way around upon arrival 3) they wish to buy, eat, visit, etc. the highlighted place.

There are various ways of presenting these Virtual Tours. One way is to simply take still photographs and put them together into a slide show. True, you will see ‘virtually’ what you are not physically seeing in person, but that is no more than a picture. Useful, but not expansive.

Next is a video in which the viewer is taken on a tour that the videographer decides what the viewer will see and the amount of time spent in/on a particular area. While this does give an idea of the layout of a home, business, etc. it limits the viewers ability to interact and decide where they would like to go/or go back to see without having to rewind/search with stop/go on the video to revisit.

The ultimate Virtual Tour is totally interactive with the viewer being able to control where, when and how long they wish to view/remain/continue with the interactive virtual tour. Further, they can decide to return to a scene with just a click of the mouse instead of having to search/stop/go to find the scene.

You may be thinking ‘how this has anything to do with my organization in my life’.  With that said, please continue.

Virtual Documentation Provides Some Relief

On September 8, 2011, the Wyoming Valley of Northeast Pennsylvania experienced devastating flooding when the Susquehanna River crested at a record level (42.66 ft.) surpassing the level of the 1972 Hurricane Agnes flood. The updated and raised levee system held strong, but encountered extreme pressure as it was pushed past its capacity.

In the days following, as the clean up process begins, residents will return to their homes unsure of what the extent of the damage will be. There will be widespread and extensive losses suffered at the hands of Mother Nature.

iReact Media offers Wilkes-Barre, PA Virtual Tours. My 360° Virtual Tours in NEPA have helped numerous homeowners/businesses sell and market their properties to potential buyers and patrons. iReact Media also offers an Insurance Documentation Service to homeowners and businesses in case of events and disasters such as this.

While it may be after the fact and the damage is already done for many, some iReact customers can rest assured that they have proper documentation because of their iReact Media Insurance Documentation Virtual Tour.

 Insurance Documentation Services Include:
•    A Full Virtual Tour of Your Home – 360° Panoramas and Stills
•    High Resolution Still Images of all Valuables
•    Scene by Scene Descriptions (as detailed as you want)
•    Inventory Worksheet (filled out by owner)
•    Two CD’s of the Completed Digital Documentation (one for you and one for your insurance agent)
•    Peace of Mind!

Be prepared. Call or email to learn more about the iReact Media Insurance Virtual Tour service. I hope that we never have to experience anything of this magnitude again, but IF we do… consider the benefits of how much stress and confusion this service could relieve.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the thousands of people affected by the flood in Northeast and Central Pennsylvania.
