For the last 21 years, I’ve greatly enjoyed helping hundreds of professional real estate photographers grow their businesses. One of my favorite strategies from the playbook is to create a powerful and lasting alliance with your local MLS board. An MLS is also referred to as a multiple listing service, the board of Realtors, or an association of realtors, depending on where you’re located. An MLS board is where all local real estate listings come together. It’s here the all of the local Realtors, and real estate brokers share area listing information with each other. The sharing of this data which is referred to as IDX (Internet Data Display), dramatically helps to improve the efficiency of the listing and selling process. There are approximately 1400 MLS boards throughout the USA and hundreds more in Canada and in other parts of the world.
When an alliance with a local board is set up correctly and the right questions are asked up front, a real estate photographer, drone pilot, or virtual tour provider will set the wheels in motion for a steady stream of business referrals for years to come. Your local MLS board is a powerful entity that you should leverage now before your competition follows the steps covered during this show. In most cases, there will only be one favored and recommended service provider from each industry. Will that be you? It can, and I’ll show you how.
