Virtual Tour Company1

As most of you know, RTV virtual tour company is located in the wonderful area of Traverse City, Michigan, but what exactly is so great about our hometown? This blog post shares the fun facts and details about our amazing area and why we chose to grow our virtual tour software company here.

With a population of over 143,000, Traverse City definitely is definitely a great source for entertainment, socializing, and quality living. It is actually the largest city in the 21 county Northern Michigan region! Known as the Cherry Capital, Traverse City is the largest producer of tart cherries in all of the United States. Since 1926, the city has hosted an annual week-long event called the “National Cherry Festival”, http://rtvpix.com/BU-4457-VZSCHM-01 where cherry lovers and families gather for great events and fun. Each year this huge event attracts approximately 500,000 visitors from all over the country! The Traverse City area also produces quality grapes and is one of the largest centers of wine production in the Midwest.

Traverse City isn’t just a place where our virtual tour business is located, but it is also the 2nd most desired small town travel destination in the United States. Talk about being awesome! U.S News even listed our hometown in the Top 10 Best Places To Retire…Shhhhh. Just imagine kicking back, having your favorite drink, and relaxing on the beaches of Lake Michigan!

RTV’s new office location is located on the Boardman River, which actually has some of the oldest history in the Grand Traverse Bay area. In 1847 Captain Boardman of Naperville, Illinois, purchased the land at the mouth of the river and built a sawmill business that helped improve the community and attracted new visitors.

Traverse City features some of the most beautiful bodies of water and is a great place for photography and creating amazing virtual tours. Surrounded by Grand Traverse Bay, Lake Michigan, and divided by Old Mission Peninsula, the scenery here is a must see for both tourists and full time residents.

The history and scenery are not the only great things about Traverse City. Entertainment is also another important focus within the city. The central business district is located downtown and includes a large variety of shopping and restaurant options. The Grand Traverse Mall features a great chain of stores and a food court. Sports are popular within the city and Traverse City is home of the Beach Bums, which is a professional minor league baseball team. The Detroit Red Wings’ training camp and annual tournaments are hosted locally. Some of the other great entertainment venues include the Traverse City Film Festival at the State Theater (founded by Michael Moore), City Opera House, and the  Dennos Museum Center.

Traverse City is RTV’s home and we are so happy to be a part of this great community. If you have never taken a vacation here, we hope that this post will make you want to stop by and enjoy a great time!
